Spot on. A post that accepts and explains the feelings of vast areas of the country to many of thatchers policies. She had some issues to address but thes way she addressed that dispicible and showed no respect towards normal working people. Probably explains why those same normal working...
My son is distraught! I have thrown away all his books on dinosaurs. I told him i had to do it because someone on the internet told me that no one can know anything about anything unless they were actually there. Still he's learnt a life lesson today.
Can't wait for church on Sunday!
Good point, I have been down to the occupy Melbourne protests and have nothing but respect for those people. There are nothing like their representation in the press. It is an effective strategy to send in the police to ruffle a few feather and then present the protesters as unsociable, unwashed...
I am not sure her being dead really makes much difference to anything. Thatcherism is alive and well which is a bad thing.
Was has struck me through these debates though is how many people of both sides of the political football pitch agree that we are the voters are not being...
The depth of feeling this woman inspires in people is truly incredible. I am finding it quite inspiring that there is still passion for politics. Maybe there could be some real change in the way the world operates it's governments.
Thatchers policies are still in place today. She changed the way the world works. For better or worse is clearly debatable but as has been mentioned over and over little has been done to reverse her changes.

Trouble is you have a choice of either large corporations or governments running utilities, neither of which i trust to do the right thing by the consumer. We have a few community utility companies that help to keep prices low. Is there such a thing in the UK?
True enough, Although we do know that profits would have been that high and that when they were privatised we were promised a more competitive rate due to competition. If companies are making that much profit surely it must be suspect that the competition is as strong as it should be.
I think the point being made is that this would not be happening if they had not been privatised. Weren't people supposed to get a better deal because competition would drive the price down and the companies would be streamlined and efficient.

I met many such people down at the occupy Melbourne protest, most I spoke to were like me protesting around their work schedule. There were some who we what you might call professional protesters and were members of funded organizations and/or pressure groups. It amazed me how few were the 'dog...
Given the example of three threads on here and countless others around the UK, Facebook and the rest of the world all containing people's differing feelings and the strength of those opinions one thing you can definitely say about Margaret Thatcher (and i think most people (as in the majority)...
