Well thankfully it's just under a month until the Vuelta starts!

It's because AG2R were already attacking and didn't launch an attack to specifically capitalise on the yellow jersey's misfortune. There is a nuance to the situations. Like I said I have no problem with the concept of it but all the riders need to be going by the same unwritten rules.

Think whole thing with the unwritten rules is inconsistent approach. Don't have a problem with it myself but all the riders need to be going by the same standards. No point having half the riders thinking it is ok and half thinking it isn't. Either everyone knows it is fine to capitalise on...

Probably a typo but there does seem to be pretty much only 1 sprinter left!

Whilst Bardet has impressed me a lot with his attacking riding, and I have been rooting for him, I'm glad he hasn't had the yellow jersey so far. The combination of yellow jersey and brown shorts would have been just too much for me. He'd look like a bruised banana.

Irony is that in a TdF with the most sprint stages for ages there are hardly any top sprinters left!

Feel the same way as you about this it seems. Whilst not ideal it could have been worse. Guess it is just because the spectators are right next to them it seems worse than say booing at a football match. Saw Bardet apologised to Froome about it...

Yeah it was great to see some Sky tactics in play rather than their usual sit at the front and ride tempo.

Think Sky were trying to bluff the top 10 GC guys with Landa up the road but no one believed them. Assume they were thinking the GC guys would attack more which in turn would mean Aru would have to work more but didn't turn out like that.

Her writing is fantastic, not read an article by her I've not enjoyed. She wrote up the experience of racing up Alpe d'Huez for Rouleur issue 13 and it was one of the grittiest and evocative accounts of bike racing I've ever read.

Watched the Vuelta , in Spain, couple of years ago and it was over 40c. The tarmac was so hot it was burning my feet through the soles of my shoes!

Indeed it was. Certainly puts the cat among the pigeons a bit especially after Froome's interview on ITV4 highlights saying they'll have to mark him more now.
