    That's not really a fair comparison. We were only getting crowds like that in the 1970s when there were literally half the number of cars on UK roads as there are today. Also, fewer people were paving over their front gardens to make driveways which means there were twice as many parking spaces...

    Half an hour to get away from a stadium where 26,000 people attended is not bad at all. When I went to Monsters of Rock at Donnington in 1988, it took literally all night to get out of the car park.
