It's interesting that I agree with most of your statement, but I still think Hemed is the better striker... certainly a better finisher, especially with his head, and also I see Tomer's positional sense as better than Barnes...

Agree to disagree... meanwhile, I was saying Zamora would have got that BTW! ;-)

You cannot possibly say that... many players were injured at that time... there are just too many variables.

20-goals-a-season in league 1. NOT in the Championship. Muzza was by far the better player. Ulloa was clearly better, and I'd also put Hemed above him.

Two examples for you (there are more)... the chase for the Argentinian striker and Vydra... seriously TB, I know you know...

Yes, they most definitely were... you know this, unless you've been on another planet since last summer, or just don't want to face the fact that Sam B is not really up to standard in a team trying for promotion... which is it?

Barnes was bang average, but the dullards on here seem to put him in the same bracket as Ulloa... that said, I'd rather have Barnes than Sam B...

He had little choice TBH, since he failed to bring in the striker he wanted...

Is that the management team who were constantly searching for a striker to play in Sam's position since last summer?
  10. B.W.

    Baldock

Yes he does... --- to keep the bench warm...

Not trying to find a scapegoat. Just pointing out an obvious weakness in the team. I will be amazed if we don't find a first choice player in Sam's position next season... let's see what happens, but we know the club have been chasing someone in his position for at least a season...

He's hardly going to say "Sam is a great league 1 player, but not great at the level we are operating." is he? Even if it's the case...

    The very definition of clueless...

He should be back-up, and definitely NOT first choice. And, yes, this is primarily because he does not score enough.
  15. B.W.

    Baldock

Your suggestion is certainly an appalling stat to judge an individual striker on.

Both those players are over-rated by some on here... Barnes an average Championship player, Sam B a great league 1 player. The fact is other strikers work as hard as Sam AND score goals. The latter is the primary (not only) role of a striker anyway.
