No I think you are correct. To be honest I don't mind how it works now as I'm not ignoring the person replying and if I want to know what the ignored person has said I can always unhide it (that functionality had broken in the latter stages of vBulletin)

Works fine for me and makes NSC a better place IMO. Now if we could have a setting to hide threads started by certain posters that would be useful.
