Whilst Baluta started his career as a centre-back, Gheorghe Hagi didn't think he was physical enough at his age and moved him into a defensive midfield role where he played most of last season (and where he played in the national team).

Lewis Freestone is, presumably, the left-back released by Peterborough at the end of last season.
