Wolves have asked Brighton permission to speak to Gus Poyet

It's probably already been said on this thread but, if Poyet was to categorically come out and say he doesn't want this job, it may have the effect of discouraging potential suitors in the near future that he WOULD be interested in. Which is probably why he wouldn't do that.

Wolves have asked Brighton permission to speak to Gus Poyet

I've said already on this thread, I just cannot understand this "no plan B" argument. Without really spending a lot (in comparison anyway), we are in the top half of a difficult division, and have beaten 2 prem teams in the cups, and played very well against one (well, one time out of two...

Wolves have asked Brighton permission to speak to Gus Poyet

Personally, I think it's because if the wheels had come off last season, there could have been a lot of rebuilding necessary to get us up out of League One, and we know full well how hard it is to find the right man to do that job. Wolves have asked Brighton permission to speak to Gus Poyet

But his record is superb, we win more than we lose, even in the Championship and FA Cup. If he literally had plan A, B and C that could turn any game on its head, he'd be the biggest football genius ever to walk the earth... It's all opinions, but I certainly don't share yours!

Wolves have asked Brighton permission to speak to Gus Poyet

I think he could well be tempted by a mid-table prem side, but not a side staring into the abyss. As for the style comment - is it just me that loves the way we play (when we do), and would hate for it to change?

Wolves have asked Brighton permission to speak to Gus Poyet

Wolves isn't a sideways move (let's not kid ourselves), but its not a massive step up, and one that could set Gus' reputation back several years. All about risk analysis, I would be amazed if he fancies this one.
