They were promising a "jobs first Brexit". No such thing. So it's effectively a moot point. Starmer's five points for backing Brexit effectively are impossible for Brexit to achieve.
Sorry But I'm not planning on taking accusations of being a fool from someone who thinks Corbyn's agenda is especially socialist. Especially given the entirety of his 2017 manifesto (including the nationalisations) could be undertaken perfectly well within the EU framework. So he wouldn't need...
I don't claim to speak for any business leaders or tycoons or any description, but the vibe I'm getting is many would rather have Corbyn while inside the Single Market than not Corbyn but outside it. The fact John McDonnell gets an audience in the City is testament enough to that.
I do enjoy the people who say "it'd be the fault of Corbyn and not Brexit if bad things happen to the economy", seemingly ignoring the fact that Brexit, whichever way it pans out, is likely to destabilise the Government and make Corbyn getting in much more likely than it would have been if, say...
Heard this far too many times about far too many things to take it seriously anymore. And the whole "danger to Labour" thing was rather disproven by UKIP themselves, who just ended up taking votes off the Tories.
Worth remembering on the "there'll be mass protests if Brexit is cancelled" that Nigel Farage tried to organise a "pro-Brexit march on the Supreme Court" in London when the Gina Miller case was being held.
He claimed 100,000 people would attend.
7 people turned up.
None of whom were Nigel Farage.
It'll be Norway. The Tories when it comes to it won't trash the economy as that'll simply pave the way for a Corbyn Government, and that's their worst nightmare.
Ireland is also totally unsolvable without remaining inside the Single Market.
