Strongly disagree, the team were well motivated when we had those fine away wins against Millwall and Ipswich in the run-in.
But it's a sad fact that a squad lacking in Championship-standard quality can't keep that up constantly against better teams. And we were playing better quality, better...
The creepy obsessive's daily commentary on my character. Would you please stop following me around NSC like a puppy dog in desperate need of some petting?
:D But McGhee has no "contacts" - or so we are told :lolol:
You've caught the anti-McGhee'ers in a nice logic trap there - they either have to praise him for his skill at developing a player's value or praise him for his "contacts".
My guess is they'll pick the "silence" option
But the team is the manager's selections, is it not? I don't see how you can back the one and not the other.
Your situation is not exactly unique - there are players who I probably don't think are really up to the job of being first-teamers, but if McGhee picks them, I will still "back" them to...
Frankly, that's nonsense - the only reason you've been able to watch two years of Championship-level football is because of the incredible team spirit and organisation injected into a squad of players that didn't really belong at that level.
Those are great examples to use to SUPPORT McGhee.
You surely must be aware of how long McGhee has been chasing Tudgay to sign, the best part of two years at least? When it came to him leaving Derby, it was clear we could not match the package being offered by Sheff Wed.
This perfectly sums...
At the time, I think you implied it was a decision by the club to encourage an expensive player off our wage bill. I thought at the time there might be possibly something in that.
But surely the decision to keep Kuipers now has exploded that theory somewhat? The falling out with McGhee would...
Yeah, I can see Joel Lynch having LOADS of confidence in him
He requested his move to Boston after being dropped for Henderson, not Chaigneau - do keep up!
Why not? When Hendo was signed permanently, he was put on the bench, not in the team straight away.
McGhee clearly likes Hendo otherwise he wouldn't have signed him, but just like Adams, he is no respector of reputations and will play who he thinks will do the best job for the team, eg...
Among the most witty members of NSC DEBASING himself with the "ha, ha, McGhee will play him in goal, ha ha" joke.
I'm shocked and mortified
Perhaps because the Championship-standard No2 had f***ed off disloyally to Boston?
Chaigneau even if good enough was injured most of the time and we were never going to play the youth Martin/Sullivan.
It certainly would have been nice for McGhee to have had the option to pick someone else to...
Your strong views on Harding are obviously well known, Tom - just surprised the vehemence has not been tempered somewhat due to our little local difficulties in replacing him at left-back last season :)
I'd love to know how McGhee was responsible for a rotten Kuipers clearance at Bramall Lane that led the Sheffield Utd's decisive winning goal against us, and how also McGhee was responsible for Kuipers utterly cowardly attempt to blame that entirely on the young defender Lynch.
The only fault I...
McGhee's main triumph with Harding was to get him to concentrate on the left-back position, and then give him a long run of games at it - and this gamble paid off spectacularly with our 2003-04 play-off promotion.
Previous managers had not been quite sure whether he was a defender or midfielder...
