    Oh, mind you it was quite a few years ago that I last used Phase 3 and come to think of it what I actually bought was well thought of back then so perhaps I fitted their picture of the ideal buyer.

    Uncle C, we don't care how big or small your appendage is, the issue here is trying to give advice in relation to shelf speakers.

    I bought the majority of my first Hi-Fi from Phase 3 in Worthing, not sure if they are there any more either but they were definitely OK at the time.

    True that Powerplant do tend towards the top end of Hi-Fi, but as far as I remember they also sold some second hand gear, so always a chance of a bargain.

    It was Powerplant, I am pretty sure of that, I found their staff to be both knowledgeable and helpful. They also sold home cinema gear, I auditioned a system that they had set up, it was amazing quality and better than being in a full size cinema, a snip at just over £40k.

    It is a long time since I bought new speakers, my current pair are 1990 vintage Wharfedale Coleridge, what an investment they turned out to be. At the time I bought them the benchmark for small speakers were Wharfedale Diamond, not sure if they still make them, probably up to version XXV by now...
