    [Albion] Gomez hyperbole

Open goal is a general term in football for a chance that’s easier to score from than miss. If you’re quibbling the specific accuracy of its use in this respect then suggest you watch more football to become familiar with the language of. Unless you’re autistic, in which case I apologise as...

Bad example. Pele didn’t need that long. He was in Santos 1st team by 15, and Brazils a year later. Gomez is most definitely shit by your comparison, which is a little unfair I’d say because he’s clearly not.

We all obviously hope so. But isn’t it a bit premature to be so certain? This was the sort of thing I’d heard prior to his arrival, and if that good, should we have seen a bit more by now (hence the thread)? Because like stocks, players can go down as well as up after all. Anyway, fingers crossed.

    [Albion] Gomez hyperbole

I would hope so next season. I don’t expect however, which is partly why I started this thread. To expect is perhaps the hyperbole bit. Is he really ‘that’ good, shows ‘that’ much promise as per Phil Ligget’s and other media pundits comments prior to arrival? Or could he be more Enciso, Buon...

I didn’t realise I was getting paid too? Look forward to your cheque if so. Anyway, I believe you’re getting a little over excited now in your glee. Time for your nap?

This is an example of hyperbole.

Yes, mixing common names up is EXACTLY the same as a young professional player missing (again) from 6yds out in the PL.

    [Albion] Gomez hyperbole

Nobodies scapegoating him. I do however believe the hyperbole some on here are guilty of adding to hasn’t helped. Hence thread. After today’s performance, I’m resetting expectations and ignoring it all. Instead, I’m going by what I’ve seen. That he’s more than likely to miss easy chances (like...

That’s the one! Getting my Tims and Phil’s mixed up. Or was it Phil Ligget? Not sure. Anyway thanks for looking up, I couldn’t be arsed. Knew someone would and you’ve that honour :)

I think he’s not above ‘grief’ (your choice of word) for his miss today if so. As for O’Riley, there are other threads on him. We can keep this one to discuss Gomez :)

Sorry, Phil McNulty! :) A senior moment

    [Albion] Gomez hyperbole

I’ve learned can go either way, hence thread. Be nice if he could stick a sitter or two in the net, hence concern some may have over egged his arrival because so far that part of his game at least is poor. Maybe I’ve answered my own question. The hyperbole was ridiculous and people got way too...

    [Albion] Gomez hyperbole

Will the real Gomez please stand up? The one we were told about last year. Huge excitement prior to arrival. Phil Vickery amongst others in media describing as one of the best players in S.America, how have Brighton done it again etc. NSC was positively dribbling - more than Mitoma - about his...
