I wasn't willing to set up a very small tournament purely for cartoons. Equally, I feel shows like The Simpsons and South Park have absolutely earnt the right to pit themselves against "real life" comedies.

You see that Italy didn't make the last World Cup? Mad that, wasn't it? I'd have Friends in a final 16 personally - but this isn't Mellotron's USCC24. It's NSC's. :smile: (See you at the group stages x)

I think it'll be different in that as far as I can see, there are only TWO shows definitely/comfortably older than it in the USCC? The Simpsons is one of the oldest shows in this competition, it's prime being the early 90s.

The voting in UKCC24 suggested there is a very large OLDER demographic on NSC, which would likely help Homer and co. Unless you're saying The Simpsons is too recent?!

Does feel like it passed the UK by, certainly compared to Friends, and even compared to Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Personally, the ones that would comfortably make MY 16 but have not made it; Bob's Burgers (far prefer it to Family Guy now) Seinfeld Nathan For You (far too niche so I didn't bother, but it is utter genius, one of the best things I've seen in years) An argument to be made for the original...

I too was very surprised at the lack of Seinfeld, even after I dropped the name in to see if it gained some traction. Friends was mentioned but didn't get 2 mentions, as is required. Much like major tournaments though, you do see an Italy or a France sit out every so often.

NOMINATIONS CLOSED. I am sorry if your preferred option(s) did not make it through. I want a high quality, shorter tournament. 32 teams felt too bulky, and I didn't want the complications/messy group endings that a 24 team tournament would entail. Think of this as like an old school Euros...
