We sell out a 3,000 away allocation every single week. That isn't the same 3,000 people, there must be at least 10,000 that go away from time to time. I bet it would have put a couple of extra thousand on the gate.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned, as I haven't read the whole thread. But I wonder what the attendance would be for this kind of game if the club decided to hand out 15 loyalty points for attending. No reason why they couldn't do that if they wanted to.
