I was the old fart (53) there with my lad (29), a friend (in her 30s) and her son (about 11). All 4 of us left after 1 drink because of the utterly crushing volume of the music, having fully intended to watch the game, or at least most of it.
Maybe none of us were the demographic they were...
Plenty have mentioned the music. Absolutely deafening, it literally drove my son and me out of that place and back to the station with just half an hour of the Palace game gone, we couldn't take it any more (although maybe that was a blessing in itself). I was initially quite happy to have...
Can't they do a webcam, like they did when they knocked up the Amex ? I was GLUED to that.
As an aside, anyone know what time DICKS opens its doors on Sunday ?
I was there about a month ago just before the season started, after mincing along to the club shop.
It looks EXACTLY the same. If these blokes were building my extension, all tea perks would be suspended.
I never use Dicks because I can't really be arsed with the queue (it still baffles me when you see a queue of people waiting to get in at 2.30 when its a 3pm kickoff - whats the point of that ?). I've not seen anything to suggest that the concourses are closing for business at the final whistle...
Its a point well made. Somehow, in all the excitement, I Iost focus on those bats and their impending collisions.
I'm going to take a few minutes and think about what I've done.
I'll be all over this like a tramp on chips. There is literally NO downside.
Hopefully it'll have x3 - x4 the capacity of Dicks. That'll entice me to arrive early and / or leave late. Big screens, grog, scrag, sluts, noodles, Richie Reynolds, Müller Rice, table football, nitrous oxide, Elton...
I'd be perfectly happy to get there extra early to take in the lunchtime game game before ours kicks off, and/or stay late for the 5.30. Spreads the arrivals and departures. Absolutely bloody marvellous.
