Write off a competition so that we can finish high enough to qualify for it next season. Almost paradoxical.

To give an idea of realistic ambition, USG won their group and got through to the QFs last season. We are better and have more depth than USG, so writing off the EL is just silly in favour of finish a few places higher in the PL - which we’ve zero chance of winning.

That’s just daft. Liverpool are favourites for Europa League, but we’re definitely one of the 2-3 teams that can upset them and we should go deep in that tournament. Joint second favourites weren’t we? It’s just a case of making too many changes.

Steele gets a lot of slack because he’s a good guy and a good footballer. He is however not Premeir League level when it comes to the goalkeeping side of things.

Couldn’t agree more. There is no need to rotate keepers, and it cannot help the defence when there’s a different keeper behind them every game. Give one or the other a decent run of games FFS.

It won’t. Same way that getting stuffed at home by relegation-threatened Everton didn’t define last season’s run in. Easy to say with hindsight, but RDZ has undoubtedly made selection mistakes here; I am however confident that he’ll learn from them.

Our record with and without Colwill last season doesn’t really correspond with that opinion.

I agree. I know it’s too prevent fatigue, but it’s too much too soon. We’ve played the same number of games so far this season as in any year.

This is not blaming the player; this is blaming the manager for picking a player for his first start who is not ready. It's a fair point. Did we really need to rotate Baleba out of the team after only 120 minutes of football?
