[Albion] AEK Athens - ticketing process, tiers and all that jazz

Hope so as one of our group had his wallet nicked (with 'ticket' in) on the way to the game. He did get in though.

Pretty sure it's Perissos (Green Line) and a 10 minute walk from there.

But that's uninforceable. If you're staying round the corner from the Stadium who is going to get the metro to the city centre only to be bussed back to the ground?

Exactly why I take the metro - traffic in Athens can be pretty bad - if you're getting a cab make sure you get a fixed price. Bus can be slow and may not take you where you want to go.

The game is in a little over a fortnight - as Bozza says I'd be very surprised if there wasn't some kind of communication this week (next couple of days) from the club about 'if you can't make it let us know'....with returns going on sale shortly afterwards. Good Luck to those still needing a...

Wednesday early (out Stanstead) back to Gatwick on the Friday evening are the flights we are taking too. Yes, we have to factor in getting to Stanstead, but for our group, including getting to Stanstead cost for travel is under £160.00 pp Would add - this was booked on the Saturday 2nd am...

Interesting that some Ajax tickets have become avaiable this am. For those wh have flights / hotels booked for Athens, personally I wouldn't cancel them yet - still a (slim) chance that there will be a few match tickets come on sale in the next couple of weeks....

Certainly cheaper to drink (away from the main tourist traps) and grab a Gyros for about €4.00 - again away from the main attractions. One thing that central Athens has is a lot of roof top bars, some with great views over the Acropolis.

It's a long walk (20 mins) from the passport control to the metro. Yes, cabs are plentiful, but not cheap - it's not a ten minute journey into central Athens and the metro is pretty good - I was last there in July and I think it was €9.00 to take the metro to Monastiraki or Syntagma (Blue line)

Yep, great spot. Straight from the Airport on the Metro - it was €9 in the summer I think I know Athens fairly well - it's a great place, I would however echo the club's comments on pickpockets - especially on the metro.
