Would a move to Barcelona or Real really be much of a step up. Barca certainly can't afford him, Real probably can't - and Liverpool would probably beat them both over two legs anyway. And he ain't playing for peanuts at Liverpool, you could bet your house on that!
Apart from improving his football career, I would have loved it - absolutely Kevin Keegan style loved it - if he'd suddenly changed his mind and signed for Liverpool and the agents had to give the money back to Chelsea (even though I'd still begrudge Chelsea getting it)!
Vital cog in the midfield of a potential league winning side - in fact a potential quadruple winning side. Yeh, I think he's doing OK ........................
Geez, come on! I know we were upset and let down when Potter jumped shipped to go to a bigger club, but "one of the most hated managers in Brighton history"........?
It's almost as if no manager has ever walked out on us before to go to a bigger (at the time) club - apart from Goodwin, Coppell...
You think his mum would have tolerated the barbarian wastelands of Manchester any more than the devil's cauldron of Liverpool?.....and his agent, with Chelsea wanting their money back?
Not if his agent would have had to pay back some money to Chelsea he wouldn't - and not without his mum agreeing not to live in London either, I'm guessing!
As I understood it at the time (and fair enough, I know that none of us who weren't actually there knows anything (except Romano )) Liverpool outbid Chelsea,, but we wouldn't accept the higher bid because Moises' wouldn't sign (or his agent or his mum couldn't let him).
I also...
Well, worked out well for us,and for Mac Alister, I suppose. Didn't do much of a job stopping Liverpool stepping in and forcing Chelsea to pay more for Caicedo though.
Like other posters, I too wish Caicedo had gone to Liverpool instead. Apart from MacAllister (and Burn, but he was a special...
Wouldn't it have been great (apart from in the footballing sense) if Caicedo had turned round and said, "Yeh, OK, I'll sign for Liverpool - I want to win things and play good football" - and then his greedy agent would have had to pay back all that money to Chelsea!
Yes. Players' agents should be paid .............................. by the players. The agent is working for the player - should be paid by the person who has engaged him and is benefitting from his untiring labour.
Wouldn't be surprised if the footballing part of him isn't now wishing he was part of an exciting, progressive Liverpool team that will win quite a few trophies in the next few years.
Still, his mum's got to live in London, and I'm sure some snake of an agent persuaded them both that Liverpool...
Stupid thread. Mac is doing well at Liverpool (they're doing better than us at the moment, are they not? - firm evidence to the contrary will be mockingly received). Liverpool fans well pleased with him.
OK, like to try again? (better effort this time please). Caicedo is playing in a group of...
