keep seeing rumours of Wrestlemania going to London fairly soon. Feel like they haven't looked into what the weather is like in England at that time of year! Could easily rain for the whole event over two days
Summerslam is surely the best option for London.
yeh it seems like an odd move, especially this long after the event
I like AEW, there's a lot of talent that I enjoy watching and would much rather watch it than WWE but I think they could do with someone experienced who can guide TK a bit.
He's good at getting talent in and some of his...
to be honest he just never looked like his heart was in it in WCW. They completely botched his debut and from that I think he knew he was in the wrong place and really he joined after they'd already peaked. But then I'm not sure how high up the card he would have been if he'd stayed in WWF with...
just raws and ppv's in this era. Not sure if the other WWF shows are on the network (smackdown started in 99 I think?).
I'd love to do nitro's as well but it's quite a faff navigating them on the network so maybe I'll tuck into them once I've ploughed through the WWF stuff
I'm currently watching everything from 1997 onwards. Bret has just turned heel and formed the Hart Foundation with Owen, Bulldog, Pilman and Neidhart. He was always better as a heel imo especially in this era when everything was becoming a bit more edgy and Bret had such a naturally self...
I do think a problem that AEW have at the moment is that it all feels like everything is on hold until MJF returns from injury as he's very obviously their top guy. Doesn't help that Adam Cole & Kenny Omega are also injured and have been for a while. It is probably time for them to really build...
only watched a bit of it so far so haven't got to the main event yet. I almost always enjoy AEW ppv's and they very, very rarely miss the mark.
Bryan Danielson vs Eddie Kingston (obviously, when has Danielson ever had a below par match?!) and Will Ospreay vs Takeshita both brilliant
yes I'd largely agree- in fact Cody WAS a mid carder 10/15 years ago and a pretty good one. Solid intercontinental/tag team wrestler but I just don't buy into it beyond that.
The only two I'd say that I'd disagree with are Roman Reigns in WWE and MJF in AEW. I've largely bypassed Reigns'...
I'm afraid I just can't connect with Cody at all
I respect that he's rebuilt himself after getting released by WWE in 2016, but I find a lot of his in ring stuff quite formulaic and his promo's very dull
It seems to be working out for him in WWE though, he is much better suited to there than AEW
at the end of the day the bloke has spent years trashing WWE so no surprises that he's not overly popular there, but he also strikes me as someone who doesn't care one bit about making friends.
I'm sure he'll do great with Rollins, just don't let Punk do any post-ppv press conferences!
I...
he'll inevitably fall out with someone which of course won't be his fault
he is undoubtedly a big draw though and is good enough in the ring to squeeze out a few good feuds before everything hits the fan
he had very good matches in AEW and a great feud with MJF
Punk was/is AEW's biggest merch seller and undoubtedly a big draw BUT quite clearly has a 'challenging' attitude that rubs people up the wrong way- and it's something that has followed him around for his whole career so this isn't just an AEW thing
whilst there's two sides to every argument he...
lots of differences really just in terms of culture and how we consume things from then vs now
that era also had a constant war for tv ratings which were a much bigger deal then so both WWF and WCW were constantly doing things for major pops to get the ratings in. If you try and watch back the...
I would be highly surprised if he doesn't appear at All Out. As you say a lot of fans would have bought tickets just for him and AEW have a bit of momentum behind them now. There's not much on the card yet for All Out and very little time to build anything so pulling Punk at this stage (not that...
looks like Jack Perry and CM Punk are both suspended by AEW and will miss All Out
How much of an absolute nightmare must it be trying to work with Punk?
great achievement by AEW, 5 years after the original All In which was essentially the birth of the company
I remain a fan, I can't really get into WWE these days but I do still watch AEW regularly. Like any company they have peaks and troughs creatively but there's enough to keep me interested...
I loved the first stadium stampede, but that was during the pandemic with no live crowd and they could do it cinematically
not sure it really works with a live audience as there's so much going on
