To be fair Webster was sold out vs West Ham, no Veltman and Milner who was dreadful. Webster was outstanding vs Wolves. The common denominator (as well as Dunk) is Veltman.

JPvH was awful tonight, like a few others, but he really struggled. It doesn’t make him a bad player, just one that is still learning. Webster would have been much better IMZo, either with JPvH or Julio, mainly because he communicates throughout, and defensively we looked in disarray.

Agree. Trouble is Veltman is a good CB as well.

Very fair. With the exception of Pervis in the first half, defensively we were great. Newcastle, lots of hype little end product. JPVH did well, other than their goal.

Agree with a lot of this, and Webster did have an off-day, yesterday, but he was left quite exposed by Milner particularly. I do wonder if we’ll go back in for the left sided Ukrainian CB that RdZ suggested when he arrived.

He was trying to be too clever in the same way Dunk has done the same previously and also Ben White versus Palace, it was a row Z job. So they’ve all done it. As others have said it’s a mystery that Veltman hasn’t started yet.

Webster was magnificent today, positionally superb and once again proved he is a class above. Fantastic performance.
