Was stretching his hamstring a lot towards the end of the game, as @LamieRobertson mentioned he’d stayed down for a short time.
Edit - As per @Joey Jo Jo Jr. Shabadoo mentioned Webbo was ready, I didn’t see the thumbs up from JPvH
To a point.
Second was due to JPvH poor pass that led to the free-kick. I think you’re being a little harsh as those are really difficult to defend, and I’m afraid if you look at the actual ball in JPvH got his feet in a tangle.
The third, he wasn’t anywhere but no-one expected Mitoma to lose...
To be fair Webster was sold out vs West Ham, no Veltman and Milner who was dreadful. Webster was outstanding vs Wolves.
The common denominator (as well as Dunk) is Veltman.
JPvH was awful tonight, like a few others, but he really struggled.
It doesn’t make him a bad player, just one that is still learning.
Webster would have been much better IMZo, either with JPvH or Julio, mainly because he communicates throughout, and defensively we looked in disarray.
Very fair.
With the exception of Pervis in the first half, defensively we were great.
Newcastle, lots of hype little end product.
JPVH did well, other than their goal.
Agree with a lot of this, and Webster did have an off-day, yesterday, but he was left quite exposed by Milner particularly.
I do wonder if we’ll go back in for the left sided Ukrainian CB that RdZ suggested when he arrived.
Difficult isn’t it. I did think this, but would Steele have done better on the goals?
I thought Bart was quite commanding, especially when he literally took everything in the first half, and flattened their player.
Not sure what his communication was like though….
He was trying to be too clever in the same way Dunk has done the same previously and also Ben White versus Palace, it was a row Z job.
So they’ve all done it.
As others have said it’s a mystery that Veltman hasn’t started yet.
Still Webster for me, just a better player.
Today he wasn’t great, but defensively we were woeful. Milner was poor, as was Pervis in terms of defending.
The first goal, was a disaster for Webster tried to force a pass, and then instead of running the ball out, tried a ridiculous flick, which...
