They're all kind of different though. Trossard came back from the World Cup pissed off and wanting to leave, stropped around and got his wish. Sanchez was frozen out by a manager who didn't rate him after 18 months if being the clear number 1. And Pedro may not have an attitude problem at all...
Well I can't speak for the kind of story that Naylor writes. Just that you were suggesting the club had passed him the info on the altercation, and I was saying he could easily have got the story from somewhere else.
As for the substance, if there is a lot more going on with the player, I...
I think we have to assume that Naylor has some journalistic integrity and isn't going to bury a story just because the club have asked him to. We know he gets stories from the club, but he's not their mouthpiece and he will get stories from other sources as well.
I'm trying to piece together everything we know about this. We know he's been missing from training and didn't attend the awards dinner. We know he wasn't available for the Liverpool game for 'personal reasons'. We know he got sent off for lashing out last time he played, and that wasn't the...
True. But Pedro has certainly reacted worse to it, not coming to Lancing, not going to the Awards, not making himself available - does seem a long way back for him unfortunately.
and yet I can't help feeling that all that doesn't square with the 'genuine personal reason for missing the game...
I don't recognise a player who has been anything other than a hard-working team-player this season. The red and near-red could be symptoms of whatever is going on in his personal life at the moment, or frustration on the football side, or just heat of the moment incidents that he will iron out...
I can only remember the Andy Cole -Keith Gillespie swop between ManU and Newcastle in the mid 90s, and then the Bobby Zamora - Jermain Defoe swop between Spurs and West Ham that did us out of a sell on fee. Possibly a few more in the lower leagues, but outside of Villa and Chelsea doing some...
That's such an easy rumour to make up, I wouldn't give it a second glance. We get this kind of stuff all the time.
Problem is that 'personal reasons' is always seen as a euphemism, so no one believes it when there are actual personal reasons.
And everybody is so quick to get out their...
Brighton going 9th, 6th, and well on course for another top ten finish, whilst selling Caicedo, Cucurella, Trossard, Bissouma, MacAllister and White is at least supporting the hypothesis that you can sell the best players and finish top 10.
Why would Pedro sign a deal with us if he knew he could get a better one when the clause was activated? Why would we pay more if we knew he would sign with us when the clause was activated?
He's signing with us because this is the best deal for him, and we'll pay what we need to pay Watford...
If he has a clause we won't be paying more than that, why would we? The player is free to choose between teams that meet the clause, it would be irrelevant if Watford accepted a bigger offer from us if the player knows that Liverpool for example would be in for him at the end if the season. The...
