A bet doesn't have to be about money but there has to be some sort of reward in return for the risk, e.g. I bet loads have had bets with their partners where the loser changes the nappies for the next 24 hours. A bet where I don't get any reward is pointless.
You can pay my monthly direct...
I don’t understand this charity stuff when it comes to having a wager. If you win my money you can spend it on what you want; by all means give it to a charity if you choose.
Assuming this signing is done and there are no pre-season injuries, I would bet money that Verbruggen will be our starting keeper against Luton.
Having the same keeper from day 1 helps with a settled side.
Not quite the same. In both cases Ryan and Sanchez had completely lost form. Once they’d been replaced as first-choice keeper there was no going back. Managers just don’t like doing it unless they absolutely have to; it’s potentially disruptive to the defence.
Also, I really don’t rate...
Managers generally don’t piss about chopping and changing keepers during the season. If he’s going to be our first-choice then it’s likely to be from the first PL fixture.
Defensive action is a bit of an ambiguous one to me as well. Guess would be that it's for when a ball is played through and the keeper needs to decide whether or not come out of his area and intercept or stay in his box and let the attacker have the first touch.
As far as numbers goes, it's...
Means he is far better than Steele at the defensive/goalkeeping side of being a goalkeeper and about the same level as far as passing out from the back is concerned.
I would be very surpised if he doesn't become our Number 1 from the start.
No, I actually thought that Ashley Barnes had left leafy Sussex to live in a 2-bed flat above one of the tanning shops in Burnley town centre.
Joking aside though, I do think that geographical location, and in particular proximity to London, is a factor for foreign players.
