We can agree on something then because that argument is ridiculous if true.
We gave Barco his first Prem start against City and seemingly told him never go long resulting in us giving up a goal (partly due to Steele but I'm not blaming any player for that goal).
If you're going to grow...
It was pretty similar.
So why would we not play a better shot stopper who's pretty much as good with the ball as Steele but is upwards of 10 years younger?
I've said all along Steele's shot stopping has been poor but that his ability to play from the back last season was key to how De Zerbi wants to play.
Verbruggen is a better shot stopper whilst also being nearly as good with his feet and is over 10 years younger than Steele.
If it was my...
That's true. That's because Steele wouldn't have got to the ball and it would have fallen to Brereton Diaz who was at the far post.
Verbruggen did the right thing, he got unlucky our midfield/CBs weren't tracking runners.
Also made a couple of huge saves in the second half, the one where Dunk cleared the follow up shot was an incredible save.
Also gives me a lot more confidence from set pieces than Steele.
The general transfer window didn't open then though.
That was the domestic transfer window which applies between clubs in the same country.
The transfer window for clubs outside of England opened on 1st of July.
With Steele we likely wouldn't have got to penalties.
Sanchez made multiple world class saves that game and was unbelievable. Unfortunately just couldn't save a pen.
Charles De Ketelaere also playing for Belgium, a player I would love to see us go for. He plays a role similar to Wirtz and Havertz at Leverkusen, playing as the second striker. Would fit in great with the way we play as even when we play two strikers they're still dropping deep and being...
Just started watching.
Verbruggen and JPVH looking very comfortable on the ball, almost playing the De Zerbi way with Verbruggen baiting the press and playing into the defensive mid.
Then a good bit of sweeping, getting out quickly to clear the danger.
