I’m just going by why I’m told by a few people I know in that industry.
It’s genuinely nowhere near as sophisticated as people think it is.
It may well be but not for a while.
Nothing new though? We’ve been headed towards automation since The Jetsons aired.
But okay, I’ll concede some jobs will become less reliant on hoomans.
Will we have more leisure time and a BUI to help those made redundant by the machines?
Or will millions be culled or left to starve?
Well, anyone’s job at any time in history could be taken over by someone who’s been made redundant. It’d be a bit silly losing sleep over it.
It’s all what ifs and buts at the moment.
If ifs and buts were crisps and nuts, what a jolly Christmas we’d all have.
“Is it here to stay? Definitely. It is a progression of technology and a branch of computer science that I believe is important. It will find its level somewhere in our ecosystem and will become a part of something bigger, possibly playing a smaller role than we think.
Is it a flash in the pan...
Oh, I’ve no doubt.
Luckily my job is safe and unless Chatbot can come over and fix my leaky taps or give me a handy, I shan’t be investing anytime soon.
I’m perhaps
being a little obtuse.
However, in all seriousness I really do think this is being over stated and AI is not going to be the game changer many think it is.
The players in the game are talking it up to generate a bubble. A short window of time where they can monetise what is...
A few people who have been winging it on an arts degree doing freelance work at an online magazine might be forced to go down the labour exchange?
I think we shall survive.
I’m sure it’ll do some good until some greedy arse gets his hands on it and figures out how to weaponise it or use it as a tool of oppression. Like we always do.
Evidence suggests otherwise. Gen Z’ers actually get conned more often, for smaller amounts of money, than any other generation. Because they believe people are nice and that technology filters out the fakes and scams.
I read some research done on this and I’ll try and find the publication.
My radio at work does that already. It’s a pain in the arse as it frequently loses or shifts network when I need it the most. The old designated channel radios had no such issues.
But, maybe I’m wrong. It could revolutionise the world. Or at least get a few nerds excited!
What can it actually do AND DO WELL, that isn’t already done by automation?
I hear it’s going to replace this and make that obsolete.
So far? A few essays that are clearly computer generated and some nerds talking to a digital face in a lab in Ohio when they should be out banging beaver and...
