    Ok, if we’re being pedantic, they have the same salary cap, and the same share of (league negotiated) merchandise, licensing, and TV contracts, regardless of individual team performance. It’s much more equal than the PL

    This was exactly what I was thinking reading his messages. It makes sense in US sports to look at the ‘rankings’ as budgets are the same (and the draft system is designed to reduce inequality). Sadly in the PL you’re better to look at the budgets, as they pretty much indicate where sides are...

    Unless the add ons were ‘make it to the end of the season without kicking the ball in to your own face’ I’d say we aren’t seeing any of those.

    I think it’s also carefully worded. Nothing agreed with ‘them’ sounds like something might be agreed with other parties (eg player/his agent).
