I'm trying to manage expectations. But not doing it very well !
Yes, every team has aberrations. The trouble is, we have had two deeply unpleasant aberrations recently.
And we are in danger of falling into the trap of making excuses for failure.
We are in the middle of a tough run in. The games are coming thick and fast. Injuries are hitting us hard.
But that isn't to say we should blame the run in, the fixture congestion, or the injury list. We should be able to manage this.
Just as we congratulate TB and PBOBE for being brilliant...
You must interpret it as you see fit. All I'm doing is trying to impart the bigger picture.
I am sorry that I failed to make you feel just a little better about tonight's result.
We all handle losses in different ways. You display your anger, which is an entirely valid response.
It's just that I prefer to put things in context. Things could be a lot, lot worse.
I reckon I feel better about this loss than you do.
Comment on the BBC live reporting:
'If you'd not seen the rest of the season you'd conclude based on this half Brighton is certain to be relegated. Dysfunctional performance.'
He may actually have a point.
