From Andy Naylor, Athletic :
Sanchez shot himself in the foot with a fatal error of judgment following a shock 5-1 home defeat by struggling Everton at the beginning of May.
He asked not to be on the bench as cover for Steele for what proved to be a restorative 3-0 win away Arsenal, followed...
It says a lot that most of the people defending Sanchrz suggest he might not have refused to bench.
As if the Sanchez camp wouldn't have pushed out a lot of PR if that were the case.
He was great in 2021. Stats thrn fell off a cliff and so De Zerbi put a better passer in goal instead...
Everyone knows he was dropped after the Palace debacle, but forget he had another chance in the league and fluffed it. Just reminding people of that.
A lot of people seem to think he's the same keeper he was under Graham Potter/Ben Roberts which has plainly not been the case since they left...
As far as I'm concerned, just like Maty Ryan a good keeper lost the ability to consistently make saves. He got recalled when Jason Steele was injured against Chelsea and let in a pathetic goal- there was no way back after
Baffled by comments on this thread that De Zerbi needs to grow up.
What exactly is he expected to do here, drop his goalkeeper and never comment on him again?
