I think that’s kind of the point isn’t it, it’s a lazy stereotype about Brighton as a place, that targets a minority who are targeted every day simply for their sexuality.
Whilst I’m not offended by it because I’m not gay, if I was at some point in my life targeted for my sexuality I can’t...

I’m sure it’s tongue in cheek, but people then (and still do now) get called that word for simply having a certain skin colour, although I’m sure you know that.
Does everyone in the Leeds crowd genuinely HATE gay people? Probably not, however it does say a lot when you’re only retort to a chant is to resort to a stereotype.
