I understand what you're saying but 1. Tompkins was clearly not the last man and 2. drawing the line from Tomkins he's well offside but 3. Guelhi was at least a metre nearer the goal than Tomkins from any angle you choose. I really don't think incompetence is a logical explanation.
There is...
Mason consistently makes incorrect decisions and even lies about them ( said he didn't blow the whistle at West Brom). Brooks is, possibly, redeemable but Mason is just too bad or corrupt and should go permanently.
That's not a good comparison. Sanchez made a goalkeeping error dropping the ball. It happens. Brooks and his assistant contrived to not see the other defender who was less than 1 metre from Romkins and very obviously nearer the goal. Can you put that down to an honest mistake? Stretching...
The location of the camera dud not contribute to the error. It was very clear to everyone except the **** drawing the line that it was the wrong defender.
It takes a single glance in a few milliseconds to see that the line is drawn to the wrong player's foot. I don't see how the officials could not see it, so it's likely they deliberately ignored it. Cricket, tennis and snooker have all had matchfixing involving Asian betting syndicates. Sorry to...
In what world could an official accidently fail to check for offside? I what world could an official fail to see the defender a yard nearer the goal? Not this one. So it is more likely to be deliberate error.
It could have been betting against Brighton leading at HT, betting on a goalless first half, betting against Brighton winning the match. If you bet on the betting exchanges you can trade out for a profit as the odds change over time. You don't have to let the bet run till the end of the match.
I cannot see how the 2 decisions yesterday against Brighton and Arsenal can be down to incompetence. Mason literally "forgot" to draw the lines and check for offside. Brooks literally "did not see" the other defender nearer the goal. It has to be deliberate, corrupt decision-making. We've had...
I no longer believe it's incompetence. There is no way Brooks couldn't see the other defender and there's no way Mason could forget to put the lines on in the Arsenal match. It has to be deliberate, corrupt decision-making, possibly under instruction from Asian betting syndicates.
You're almost certainly right but the quality of the picture is from the 1970's. I'm sure we'll get an explanation from Mr Webb with his new spirit of openness and honesty.
I think the blue line is meant to be drawn to the last defender's shoulder but, from that angle, it looks as though it can't be drawn vertically to the blue horizontal line. An explanation from @FA_PGMOL (twitter) is required (to be laughed at).
