[Albion] 10-game ban and 50-loyalty point deduction

Another clear explanation of the obvious. You won’t get a reply that answers this point in any way.

I have no idea whether or not your claims about revenue and the qualities of the Palace CEO are true. Perhaps this deserves its own thread so we can have that debate with a wider audience of knowledgeable posters ?

:) Detention ! I will pull you up on one thing thing though. You don’t travel thousands of miles ‘for this club.’ You do it for the same reason as everyone else ie because you enjoy it. That enables you to buy further tickets but does not entitle you to either re-distribute those tickets as you...

[Albion] 10-game ban and 50-loyalty point deduction

I don’t see why it would. There are clearly people buying tickets for the loyalty points but with no intention of going to the game, safe in the knowledge they can pass them on to whoever they choose. If they lost those LP they wouldn’t use such a system, so without the random checks they would...

[Albion] 10-game ban and 50-loyalty point deduction

In fact the opposite of what you say is non negotiable. There is no point in my continued support if the moment we become successful people hoard tickets by buying them up and distributing them to their mates as they choose, thereby re-enforcing their points advantage. No doubt this has always...

[Albion] 10-game ban and 50-loyalty point deduction

Yep, I would rather have a free one like most countries. Too much moaning about that possibility over here though. That’s another debate.

A lot of people still seem to think the points scheme should rewards ticket purchase only. Quite clearly it is supposed to reward ticket purchase AND match attendance. If that point were better understood this thread probably wouldn’t exist.

Perhaps you don’t realise but you have harvested points. You said so in your third paragraph.

A passport can be used for so much more than traveling abroad. It’s basically an ID card. I have used it for job applications, buying houses, opening a Mersey Tunnel account, renting out my Mum’s house, and loads more. I never go abroad these days either.

If you slap on the wrist then nobody takes it seriously. People look for weakness and exploit accordingly. I don’t understand why you think it is complicated either. Buy ticket Use ticket Be awarded points Random checks to keep everybody honest

[Albion] 10-game ban and 50-loyalty point deduction

I understand your point completely but yours is not the behaviour currently being clamped down upon by the club. That there are stories like yours does not diminish the identified problem and nor does it count as a strong argument against the clampdown. If you want someone to blame then your...

That’s because the Albion play in the Premier League. Basically it was easier to get to away matches and POTG when we were shit. Pretty much the same anywhere.

Definitely the Crawley game, even from where I live. Qatar is a long old distance to travel on a Friday night.

[Albion] 10-game ban and 50-loyalty point deduction

You are conflating some issues and ignoring others which, I think, is behind our disagreement on this thread. One issue the club is concerned about is incidents that lead to ejection of fans and/or police involvement. They are not trying to prove any point. Rather (and this is another issue)...

Funny that, we missed that Shrewsbury game as well as we were on holiday when tickets went on sale. Mightily pissed off but it was my own fault. Not helped when I went to work to be told by a Chelsea supporting colleague that he had a ticket given to him by one of the players !

Yeah, I’m inclined to agree. As an Albion supporting family we discuss the club on family chats pretty much all week. It just isn’t possible that any of us would apply for tickets for a game without mentioning it. It’s a big part of our lives.

[Albion] 10-game ban and 50-loyalty point deduction

We are all different but the new rules/penalties make me feel the reverse. By reaching out to the honest majority the club is showing a connection to those who behave within the spirit and intention of the loyalty points scheme. My analogy would be in teaching. It is wrong (imo) to cater...
