Haven't seen in posted yet in this thread but Naylor reports that RDZ 'made it clear verbally to Trossard last Monday in a meeting in front of the other players that he didn't like his attitude'.
This is supposedly the 'humiliation' that was referenced in Trossard's statement.
No, they were the links that the other poster shared, which took about 30 seconds of time skimming through to see they all originate from the same source.
Multiple outlets have 'reported' the interest but not multiple sources.
The Mirror 'reported' it in October, as a throwaway line in an article about Chelsea; https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelsea-transfers-january-nkunku-trossard-28246688
What they report is also a bit...
Maybe in future try being more specific. You said 'Madrid' so like 99.99% of fans would, we assumed Real Madrid.
It would be like someone saying 'United' but talking about Newcastle.
It's been reported in a few places that we have exercised it, and I believe we would have needed to before January as otherwise he would have been able to negotiate a pre-contract with clubs abroad.
He signed a 4 year deal with an option for an extra year.
He currently has 6 months left on the 4 year deal, with us having the one year option.
So basically, 18 months left.
I am sure that the truth is somewhere in the middle.
But the reason it's the key part is that he'd made his mind up he wanted to leave this window, which explains why everything has suddenly come to a head.
Trossard has been a very good player for us. But he's not delivered a consistent season since he's been here, and now it's questionable if he'd even get in our best 11.
I really have doubts as to if a 'bigger' club will be interested in him and how much game time he'd get there.
The key part of that statement to me is "both parties could not reach an agreement, also because Leandro has indicated that he is ready for the next step."
He made up his mind before the WC that he was leaving.
