It's quite clear he won (partly) due to the current political situation with the US. Looking at the turn-out it's without doubt a 'reaction', to both the previous government and anti-Trump sentiment. But, all things considered I'm pleased he has won and look forward to him dealing with Trump.
It’s going to be fun watching Carney against Trump. He’s a smart, straight talking and strong cookie and will not pander to Trump’s bullshit. He’ll out smart Trump at every turn, all Trump will have is his name calling and his “failed” prefix.
Glad he won.
“Some solar equipment exporters in Cambodia face the highest duties of 3,521% because of what was seen as a lack of cooperation with the Commerce Department investigation.”
3521% tariff

Just pause for a minute and think about...
This is not true. Whilst marketing authorisation is/can be conducted by the EMA (EU), pricing is at the country level. There is nothing to stop the US negotiating a lower price...if it can. For example, it's in exactly the same position as the UK when it comes to this.
The issue is more to do...
I do think the bond market will play more of a roll in all of this but not “forgiveness”. China and Japan actually hold a reasonable power over the US economy…..and I feel Trump is only just realizing this.
Fair point.
Also, Jason Isaacs, British White Lotus actor, called out the Trump administration in a US tv interview a few days ago was a brave and welcome move. No doubt he will be labelled a failed and woke actor now.
Pleasing to read China, Canada and the EU are all now reciprocating with fresh tariffs. Good to also see the cost of borrowing has now gone up the US.
I wonder when/if his advisors will start to whisper in his ear?
Which is why I want everyone to reciprocate the tariffs. Don’t pussy foot around, if he wants a fight, let’s give him one.
Or someone to just shoot him.
Germany has PR and constituency seats. Regarding your last point, independents can get seats, they will need to win at least 3 constituencies to sit in the Bundestag though.
I don’t thing he gives a shit. But where it will notice is the drop in trade with business owners. I like to think they will start to question why sales have dropped since he got in.
