[Football] "It's not VAR, it's the people running it"

Yep - unless perhaps VAR chappie has spotted a ‘clear and obvious’ error (in real time) that the ref has no clue about, in which case he’s on the mike instantly saying ‘hang on, we need to check that one’.

That's the process, not the 'system'. The process is shit, and run by clowns. The system is fine, it's been badly implemented

It's not the system - it's the clueless goons (our highest qualified and most experienced refs) watching the replays.

Even the Womens Championship has an assessor at every game who meets the ref team after the match

Exactly……’umpires call’ (essentially what ‘clear and obvious error’ should mean). This worked in the case of the penalty, but didn’t in the case of the West Ham goal.

Re the Forest pen, I'm not actually bothered about the actual decision (def one of those that could be debated forever), I'm more just pleased that Oliver refused to bow to the VAR 'expert'.

It’s not ‘the technology’ though, it’s just another ref watching replays giving a different (also subjective) opinion. It’s not working, it’s not improving the accuracy/quality of decisions overall and it’s ruining the ‘experience’ for anyone watching.

    Absolutely shocking decision……never a foul.

Big credit to Michael Oliver yesterday too, who basically told VAR to do one for the Bournemouth penalty and stuck to his original decision.
