I think this is the crux of the discussion i.e. the tricks he used in the Championship are simply not as effective against better players. I also felt players could read him quite easily..just cut off the inside channel, force him around the outside and it’s job done. Man U had a stand in left...

I certainly didn’t expect him to do it every game but certainly more than a handful.

I disagree. He had a few good games but he wasn’t able to reproduce this on a regular basis like he did in the Championship.
