Burnley have had 1 red card in the last 5 years in the PL. (We had one in the Europa league in Olympiakos as well. But the ref had been got at.)

And even better - none of the team ever spend half an hour after kick off working out where they are supposed to be playing! Our lot tried three centre halves once. We lost 5-1. To be fair, we did have a spell of 4-4-1-1 that worked well.

How true. "Predict the team" threads don't go very far on UpTheClarets. It's still talk of the town when, three Christmases ago, Dyche made 3 unforced changes for the same match.

Only if there's an injury. The subs would be Rodriguez, Barnes, and whichever of McNeil/Lennon doesn't start.

No. Brownhill and Westwood are both available, so Stephens won't start. Barnes will probably be sub, with only a very outside chance that he could start if Weghorst is still injured AND Barnes is preferred to Rodriguez. But I think Barnes will come on as sub.

The accounts as at July 2020 showed a bank balance of £80m. Perhaps £30m of this was TV money in advance of the new season, but the rest was cash reserves. Garlick had spent very little on new players for 3 seasons. The new owners cleared the bank account, it's certain, and they also borrowed...

The previous owner (Mike Garlick) sold up to American investors and took north of £100m with him out of the club funds. Or rather, the Americans used £100m of club funds to pay him for the shares, which amounts to the same thing,. I suspect the new Americans are taking out directors' fees...

There's merit in those points, but on the other hand I reckon the counter-arguments have more merit. For one, is it good for the game if the smaller clubs get squeezed out so the bigger clubs can have more money? For another, do the PL players have so much need of extra cash that they need to...

Within 20 miles, Accrington,. Blackburn, Preston, Rochdale, Oldham, Bolton, Bradford, possibly Huddersfield. If you make it 30 miles you can add Leeds, Man U, Man C, Oldham, Salford, Blackpool, Morecambe, Fleetwood, Wigan. It's pretty crowded up here!

I can accept one mistake, when when the same ref makes a mistake twice in one game ... :p Yes, Heaton should have been sent off in the first half. But the point stands, he didn't get away with it because the ref watched the TV at half time and decided to "re-referee" it by sending Heaton off...

A bit ironic to mention that our goalkeeper was sent off for dropping the ball and catching it again before it was touched by another player, and then saying we get away with a lot! We have had 1 man sent off in the last 5 years. How does that compare with you? ???

    [Football] Burnley

Just a little smaller than Hove, in fact. Plenty of other clubs within a stone's throw of the town. That's why we have so many broken windows. Leeds is a good bit nearer than Liverpool, actually.

It'd be a lot more palatable if we weren't skint. The last owner took about £100m out of the club and the new owners are probably taking out fees and directors' salaries too.

    [Football] Burnley

Yes. The previous chairman spent his last three years building up money in the bank which he took with him when he sold the company. Which is why on occasion this season we have gone with a starting line up who have all been at the club 3+ years, and why we have the oldest team in the PL...

    [Football] Burnley

That wouldn't be a problem for this game - Burnley 3 Watford 0 on 15th December, when Watford couldn't raise a team. There would have been no rearrangement. The idea that Watford should have the game put off when they were short staffed, but Burnley should have to play now that Watford are...
