Fraud is one thing, but exploiting the situation in a time of national crisis for so many is beyond disgusting.
If only PPE was the only corruption out there, Freeports next. For so many power means nothing unless it involves enrichment for themselves and their mates
The Mone deal is just over 1% of the total. This is the scandal of all scandals, just another bill put on the tab thanks to Tory corruption and incompetence.
People need to go to prison, something like this can never happen again
What about the others that ripped off the government? They spent £13.6BN around 70% was unusable, £10BN written off

What is incredible the government must have paid in advance to many of these companies. Many would have been in no positive to offer the standard 30 days terms.
I've done a number of public sector tenders and found payment is always prompt but NEVER in advance
We still have the enquiry but I'm unconvinced anything will happen. No one will be held to account.
This will remain a stain on the Tories forever and will never be forgotten. They exploited despair to reward their cronies...
It’s the gift that keeps on giving.
So in a nutshell, a small company with no experience in PPE, that was introduced via the ‘VIP lane’ by a Tory peer, pocketed £20m+, failed to deliver, changed its name, and, on being sued, its offshore parent company conveniently went into liquidation...
The other issue is government friendly media, if this was Labour the PPE Sandal would be on the front page, day after day after day. Just look at what the DM did over Starmer's non-event covid curry.
What I find incredible is its so blatant these people in our elected government exploited a period of nation crisis to line the pockets of donors and mates.
They knew it would come out but as we will see no one will be punished...
FFS, its never ending..
New Tory Chairman helped land a £25m PPE deal for a firm linked to Mark Higton – then Chair of Hammersmith Conservatives – despite it having no experience providing protective equipment...
Pretty comprehensive article in todays Guardian. So many people in the supply chain taking their cut, and that’s before you get into the Chinese supply chain.

Its over 2 years since the Good Law Project exposed the PPE scandal, its taken a long time for this shitshow to hit the mainsteam

£4BN was awarded via the government's VIP lane, a lot more to come

The sooner we get Lords reform the better, Lord Lebedev of Siberia was the moment things were shown to be totally out of control
This one isn't going away...

Tory peer Michelle Mone is to take a leave of absence from the Lords "to clear her name", amid allegations she benefitted from a company she recommended for a Covid contract.
I still believe most politicians enter office for the right reason and not in it to further their own nests. Sadly, in this case the level of corruption we are seeing has not been experienced anywhere in this country in the modern age.
Meanwhile vast swathes of print media refuse to go...
PPE Medpro was formed in May 2020, within a few months it had landed a contract for £200m. Approved NHS vendors in PPE could even get phone calls returned.
This whole PPE scandal has still a long way to go
