Brian And Charles;
Brian is a lonely inventor in rural Wales who spends his days building quirky, unconventional contraptions that seldom work. Undeterred by his lack of success, he soon attempts his biggest project yet. Using a washing machine and various spare parts, he invents Charles, an...
The Forgiven
A fatal accident disrupts the lives of Western visitors to a lavish party in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco, and will ultimately lead to a reckoning in the desert.
Was quite good. Fiennes is always watchable and it’s got a good cast. It ultimately feels a bit unfulfilling...
Well, it looks a bit better than Crystal Skull but with the first three Indy films being my favourite franchise of all time and much loved by me, I hesitate to get excited. And that title? Oh dear. I am lead to believe it refers to SPOILER ALERT.....
The Antikythera Mechanism.
The Invitation.
After the death of her mother and having no other known relatives, Evie takes a DNA test and discovers a long-lost cousin she never knew she had. Invited by her newfound family to a lavish wedding in the English countryside, Evie's at first seduced by the sexy aristocratic...
I watched Where The Crawdads Sing today. A real late 90’s throwback and not in a good way.
Paper thin story, massively unlikeable characters and a twist so obvious it may as well have been eating a twister lolly doing the Twist on a Twister mat.
Was like some crap hybrid of Mills & Boon and...
Titane, Julia Ducournau's follow up to the superb RAW.
A woman with a titanium plate fitted in her head and murderous intent on her mind embarks on a bizarre journey of identity and unconditional love when she's forced to go on the run.
It has some interesting scenes and it was somewhat...
I often use your reviews to inform my cinema viewing, I have a limitless subscription so I can take a punt here and there. So now I’m intrigued, will I like it or find it ridiculous?
Watch this space….
Bullet Train.
I was entertained. It’s a good, fun film. All cartoon violence and whiz bangery.
Pitt is great in it. He’s 58! He’s looking in good shape. He has some funny asides and lines.
The pair of mockney Guy Ritchie type characters are rather annoying but the don’t ruin the film...

Dukes at Komedia
Picture house
All owned by the same group I believe (?) all under threat. They’ll likely be gone this time next year.
I really enjoyed Us. The scene where they are breaking into the house had me in shreds. Found it very effective. Not fussed about his other stuff. I’m going to see Nope next week purely as an exercise in getting value for money on my Limitless subscription. Which has largely laid dormant this...
Queen & Slim. Absolutely agree. A bit of an hidden gem. Really enjoyed it.
Not been to the cinema for a while but this week I have lined up on my Odeon (I know, mea culpa) Limitless membership. £15 a month though…

I also watched Thirteen Lives this evening.
I really enjoyed it. Ron Howard has a knack for telling gripping, tense stories and he’s done brilliantly here.
Can’t really fault it. Loved Viggo Mortensen’s character.
As an aside, my mate met John Volenthen, the British rescue diver played by...
Elvis…
It’s very entertaining. Austin Butler is actually very good. Likeable. And very accurate. They do belnd some CGI face stuff in during his last few years. which actually works fine except for one VERY bad blend.
Tom Hanks is pretty bloody good too. Like something out of the Grimm fairy...
Jurassic World: Dominion.
We saw this in London on Sunday. I’m a big fan of the new, now complete trilogy and was not disappointed. It is perhaps even sillier than the previous two but it’s a film about dinosaurs so I’m more than happy to suspend disbelief once again.
There’s little point in...
