Think you misunderstood my post. I was suggesting that it wasn't the money that has seen increase in play acting and cheating by homegrown players but the influence of the influx of foreign players. I think long before the EPL, European players were well versed in the dark arts.

I agree that the cheating and play acting wasn't around as much before the PL but I would suggest that's more to do with the influence of overseas players rather than the money. It could easily be rectified if we had referees that were fit for purpose but I guess that's another thread.

Take it you don't go to games then. When I'm watching, I'm not thinking about how much each player earns. When the players are on the pitch I'm guessing they're not thinking what they're going to spend then next pay check on.
