Anyone who saw the starting line-up , and has half a brain, would have known we would struggle tonight.
Even so, it’s been very poor.
One of the many concerning aspects is that we haven’t even made (and missed) many chances.
Connolly and Trossard hardly touched it.
It’s a horribly unbalanced team.
Our tactics seem to be to attack down the wings.
Yet There’s been nothing in the middle all night. No height, no presence often literally nobody at all.
We’ve done well points-wise this season so far, but there are big big problems.
What’s the point in doing crosses when there are only midgets in the middle? I think some of our wingers/fullbacks ask themselves the same question.
We should bring Ferguson on.
It was a terrible finish. But a freak one, to be fair.
My question, why do we consistently manage to concede just before half time? Why don’t we find a way to shut up shop.
You could tell it was coming after Burn (I think) did that crap little back pass that nearly ended with Sanchez taking their striker out.
Those five minutes before HT are a white hot conceding zone for us, especially when we’ve had most of the ball.
The defence gets jittery. We nearly concede...
We are heading towards that familiar period where the opposition have weathered the storm, and will be confident of pinching one before HT.
It’s often been that way for couple of years. At least with Sanchez in goal it doesn’t feel like an absolute inevitability.
Right, I’m all set watch us dominate for a bit longer. Miss a few chances.
Then concede just before half time.
Then watch a painful second half. Miss a few more chances.
Possibly watch Traore smash in another. .
Swear a bit, cup of tea, then off to bed.
I wonder if another club would have pushed harder for cancellation given we have COVID players, (and Webster is back very soon but not yet).
I hope we’ve not been too noble, where others wouldn’t
