I understand that argument.
But imho Barnes would've been in Sanchez's thinking, perhaps Sanchez would been in a different position without the interference.
Rodgers put Barnes there to have an effect.
You’ve explained it so clearly.
Whilst that arrogant paragon of virtue Shearer just won’t open those slitty eyes or his mind.
Barnes was simply put there to impede Sanchez, he did and he 100% would’ve affected his judgement/vision to a certain extent. It doesn’t matter that the last incident...
It’s almost impossible to have your cake and eat it with attacking fullbacks. Lamptey’s incredible going forward, but not as solid as Veltman defensively. Similar to Trent AA who creates bucketloads of goals, at the small price of being caught out positionally a couple of times per game.

It was archetypal Shearer at his worst, domineering the discussion with his vehement blinkered views. My way or the highway zzzzzzzz.
Leaving a token 20 seconds to talk about Cucurella.
Pathetically managed by the programme, for example, they could also have looked at Trossard’s brilliance...
Nah.
We played brilliantly for most the game, outfought them, players potentially affecting a goalie’s judgement are offside.
But moreover,
WE WON, DWELL ON THE POSITIVES ON MARVELLOUS DAY TO FOLLOW THE ALBION, PINCH YOURSELF, HAPPY DAYS.
Spot on, we’re rewriting this game as if Leicester bossed us.
They did for the first 15 minutes but only winning a series of corners, Barnes was the only stand out player then. Then inevitably with that club’s spending power, they dominated after scoring.
In between, we were brilliant...
They toyed with us, lots of corners, Harvey Barnes dangerous, then a magnificent 20 minutes.
We’re hunting in groups:
Solly & Veltman
Cucurella, Welbeck & Lallana
Trossard & Maupay
Praying Biss The Boss plays on.
