It isn't completely different.
Both have / had wealthy owners bankrolling the club. Which is all great, until said wealthy owner decides not to keep throwing money at something. Neither club would be able to service its debts for long without said wealthy backer
Mel Morris was doing it with his own money, and was happy writing cheques - until he did not want to any more. If Tony Bloom had to / decided to do so then we would be in real trouble as well I guess
I’m not doubting any of that re EFL and most derby fans i know could see this coming and were getting tired of Mel Morris antics, but that hasn’t caused the situation they are in now. Simply Mel Morris has decided to stop bankrolling the club and could not sell it
Do have some sympathy with them. Mel Morris was happy bankrolling them and had decided enough is enough. If Tony Bloom decided to walk away / stop funding us to we’d be in a similar situation
