Fair enough shout.
All I really want re Connolly is for him to get regular game time somewhere. At 20 you really need that. We're at the stage now where he's not playing U23s and scoring regularly and he's mostly bench warming for us. So, when he does get on, he's rusty and lacks confidence...
I wouldn't say "don't rate" at all. March has been tremendous going forward this season but he's a liability defending at times. But again, my OP states we do not have a left back. LB and LWB are different positions. Subtle but definite. And my point is that we needed to go to a back 4 today and...
No, I don't think it's weird at all that Potter would stick a square peg in a round hole.
I'm arguing for a specialist, proper left back to be signed. Karbownik is another who seems to have three ok positions instead of one good one.
I don't see working at your game in the Championship as an easy option. My proof? Ben White.
March is a converted winger who is ok at LWB but a penalty waiting to happen further back. Burn is a shit centre back forced into service to cover up our lack of recruitment. Karbownik is right footed...
It's on another thread. But....
The xG for a penalty is 0.75 which means you score three quarters of them on average.
Our old mate Jedinak has a score of 100% out of 16 career penalties, representing the high point of that average.
Maupay is bang on the xG average. As a team we are way below...
A perfectly reasonable reply. Cheers
I think my biggest issue, that can be summed up as the sum total of my nine points, is that this is all so predictable and repeatable. We ALL know what is going to happen.
Maybe strip my OP down to " the definition of madness is doing the same...
Probably not one for a line by line dissection as I respect your views. I would say that Potter does not start Connolly enough to improve him. My suspicion is he enjoys being a PL squad player pulling a WAG way above his weight to only play now and again. If he wanted to improve he'd go...
I've seen us away in Northern shitholes when football was still quite dangerous to watch and the Albion took about 100 away (and no more than 1000 to London)
Who did you blame for us ending up 45 minutes from non-League? For me it was Bellotti, Archer and Stanley which is why we went on the...
With the exception that I'd rather sign players with one, strong, regular position than three ones that they're ok at, I think you and I are violently agreeing. Potter's insistence on persisting with Burn is baffling.
Let's be crystal clear about this.
If Karbownik is a left back - if - then our head coach prefers a central midfielder and a 6ft 7 mid table Championship centre back to him in that position. So is the issue the players or the coach?
They can't score them. Spanish Dave could. Knocky could.
The fact he's 20 is exactly why he should be loaned. He should be playing every week in The Championship and getting his confidence up. not playing one in five here and missing from four yards.
I'm going to sound like the dear...
Thanks. A good set of answers. But....
"This goes against a central but wrong pillar of Potter Out Campaign rhetoric that we overplay and try and pass the ball into the net. We generally don’t overplay, We just don’t have the quality when it comes down to shooting, I don’t think it’s a case...
It's always something though, isn't it?
We'll have to learn how to defend set pieces. Well done children, you've got a B+. Let's move on. We'll have to learn how to create chances against a low block. Marvellous. A+. Now, let's work on them being good ones. Oh, whoops. B. And now, scoring them...
The problems, since Palace, have been well discussed on here. Today exposed even more. They say never play the blame game but I'm afraid it's time to, before we end up nice-passing our way to the Championship where we will have 90% possession and 40 shots a game and still not go back up. Whose...
