[Drinking] Tim Martin takes a beating

I’m a beer quality manager for a major brewer and used to work for Molson Coors I can confirm without doubt the only reason he can buy the beer cheap is the vast quantity and that he buys well in advance

Agree with most of your post but they do not have close to sell by date on their beer, it is the same as everywhere else. in fact as they are busy places they are likely to have very opposite. Wouldn't make any difference I still wouldn't drink in there.

It's the comparison between costs. Your independent can't compete on price whether you believe the cost should be cheaper or not. Wetherspoons can buy a keg of Carling for £55 Pub next door it could be as much as £160. Tin of beans in Lidl 30p tin of beans in Independent £1 I mentioned the...

Price of his beer is cheaper than most pubs can buy it for, is that fair? The food is cheap because it's cheap nasty shit. Wetherspoons next door to a local pub is no different to having Lidl next door to a local private store.

Yes you could be right, I took it meant risk of going under as losing money and not topping up pay etc

Fortunately Asahi wouldn't lower themselves to have their beer in Wetherspoons so I no longer need to visit the dumps but when I worked for Molson Coors I regularly had to visit, got threatened on a few occasions when I had to remove a beer from sale. The worse time in early morning as the heavy...

That I doubt very much. He is in prime position to kick start again. Your local pubs are the ones who who will struggle. Many have taken on personal debt to get by and I can hear the moaning now when they have to put prices up to attempt to pay back the debt. Wetherspoons don't have nasty...
