Roadmap out of Lockdown - Feb 22nd

Why should category 9 parents - already deemed a priority - be shoved out of the queue just so younger cohorts can jump in ? Pretty much most weeks we hear of people championing different groups of queue jumpers. Just get categories 1 - 9 done first.

I think it is a Recovery group not a Research group ?

Indeed. They are being recklessly opened before Easter.

Roadmap out of Lockdown - Feb 22nd

The priority groups are not done. We have 9 priority categories for a reason and category 9 is due to be complete by mid April. Let's not have any queue jumpers until then. I'm pretty hacked off that priority groups 7-9 are pretty much forgotten in this lockdown lifting saga.

Roadmap out of Lockdown - Feb 22nd

Limited crowds could well be allowed on the last day of the season ( The Athletic ). I reckon Newcastle would protest as they are at Fulham.

He confused getting all category 1-4's done by mid February with getting all category 1-9's done by mid April. Basic stuff... and he's in charge

Well, perhaps fortunately, there is no more to say about it now. It is happening. If it turns out to be a bad mistake we can just add it to the list of blunders.

Roadmap out of Lockdown - Feb 22nd

I think they've gone 3 weeks too early on school re-opening but all we can do now is look at the on-going figures and make a judgement on the facts as they present without any claims of hind sight. I also really hope they don't have another Eat Out to Help the Virus disaster later in the year.

Roadmap out of Lockdown - Feb 22nd

Yes. I have weighed up the being frazzled for 3 more weeks against hammering virus chains and saving a number of deaths and grieving families. I am all for schools going back after Easter. I have my head in my hands thinking of them being rushed back for the sake of 3 weeks. I gather Whitty...

Roadmap out of Lockdown - Feb 22nd

I still see no reason to send the schools back before the loomimg Easter holidays and not use those 3 weeks to really 'help out to hammer the virus'.

I hope no one who has been vaccinated can vote in these polls otherwise it is all a bit "I'm alright, Jack, sod you".

Roadmap out of Lockdown - Feb 22nd

I really think schools should stay shut until after the Easter holidays to "help out hammering the virus". On the other hand they are 40% open anyway now so if we are really, really lucky we may just about get away with opening them on March 8th. Risky !

No he meant irreversible. Unless they u-turn the policy of course.

Roadmap out of Lockdown - Feb 22nd

I must admit I am totally baffled why they haven't waited until after the Easter holidays. All for the sake of 3 weeks where instead they could really have hammered down the R number and saved lives as a result.

We are on the clinical Priority list for a reason so let's not forget us, eh ?
