I don't get why White should even be an option in that position. If Potter wants that type of player there he should be playing Molumby. It seems obvious, but surely playing players in their best positions would get more out of them and improve the team overall?

I don't think White has ever played at LB. Who are the actual LB's available for Potter? And other than White (possibly?), what are the options? Alzate? He did pretty well at RB last season, could he do a job at LB?
