does increasingly seem like a better idea doesnt it? funny thing is, im not sure the big clubs, aside from the hard money men, really want that either. i recall many chief executives have been against it in the past, otherwise it would probably have happened by now.
we can stop there cant we? the clubs are not going to give up such a large slice of their revenue, even among a reduced number of clubs its 17%(?) less.
glad you dug out the stats so i didnt have to. was really only remarking on the "zero chance", its better than that. i wonder what rate the playoff winner goes straight back down, as indication they weren't really up to it. its not something i would like to see, but its not the first time...
bit more to it than simple cash injection now, there's ongoing distribution of a chunk (8.5% i think) of all PL revenue going down the leagues. thats really what its about, a proposal from Football League to gain from Premier League money.
well its on the basis of the selective reporting of the media, they certainly made a lot of the Premier League and Liverpool in headlines. only a couple in the detail made reference to Premier League explicitly not being the source and against the proposal. looks like one journo got the story...
kite-flying isnt it? even clubs supposedly in favour can distance themselves tomorrow, some ideas not entirely rejected can be incorporated into upcoming deals.
if the top 6 were to go off to a european league that would probably be best for the rest. back to a more open FL, less reliance on big spending euro competition.
reading a bit deeper than a headline, seems they are offering a large amount of payments to EFL, lower leagues, FA. to balance the books, so clubs still get the same revenue, they drop a couple of clubs.
