I will still have those great memories from Swansea away on our first season up and singing the 'Stephens our midfielder' song on almost continuous loop.
For Stephens, if he is playing regularly in the premier league this season he'll most likely be able to get a better contract and bigger signing-on fee next summer than if he's stuck on our bench all year
Two reasons - one, if Stephens wants to go we'll let him, and two, we'll get exactly the same amount of money from Burnley if we loan for a season or sell him. The only material difference is that Burnley won't have to commit to a 3 year contract for him from the outset.
I think a loan would be most likely, I'm not sure Burnley would be keen to commit to a multi-year contract straight away, see how he does and then offer him a deal in the summer when his contract with us is up.
Club legend. And a much much better player than his detractors give him credit for. May have fallen down the pecking order a bit but I'll be sad if he's gone, he's been so important to our club
