The public flogging is almost punishment enough. Make them isolate for a couple of weeks, fine them a couple of weeks wages and move on. It’s mind-bendingly stupid of them though. This is in no way comparable to them picking up a couple of girls on an away trip in normal circumstances.

They’ve also broken the law in Iceland, not just the FA rules.....I have no doubt the instructions they would have had pre-trip were explicit and regularly repeated (and I suspect they signed a ‘code of conduct’ in relation to Covid), but I guess the often-seen combo of arrogance and stupidity...

Disagree in this case. If it was a 'normal' away trip then yes, but given the Covid protocols (and risks - including to future matches etc) they will have had what they can and can't do absolutely and repeatedly drilled into them before the trip - in simple words of one syllable so even they...
