I know websites/hacks are guessing when they mention player wages, but I wonder what Veltman’s paid? Is it up there with our highest (Dunk, Lallana, Welbeck?)? A consistently great RB and team-player, I would love to hear that he’s been offered and signed an enhanced contract by the Albion.

They must have. On TV, Veltman looks very average, slow and physically weak.

It’s the Viking in them. Neeskens et al could also put their foot in.

Physical strength is not necessarily related to ripped muscles. Veltman isn’t a bench press tart, core strength is key. Allied to his knowledge of the game. No better place to learn than Ajax.

I used to watch Stephens. In his Championship and first two EPL seasons, he was the master in protecting the CB’s, sensing vulnerabilities, then passing it simple to a creative player. Unsung work.
