I skirted round nothing. Leaving the EU was my primary concern. Perhaps other parties would have stood a better chance at the election if they hadn't been so gung-ho on stopping us leaving the EU contrary to the people's vote to leave. Yes, I hold a different view to you - not my problem, so...
Staying in the EU (aka the European United Super State) is permanent if we don't get out while we can (unless it all breaks up of course, but that's not something on which I'd care to gamble our country's future on). A Tory government is temporary.
Once safely and irrevocably out, I look forward...
I have never disdained the NHS. It is one of our finest institutions, a monument to the best government we ever had (Attlee's). I've spent almost the whole of my working life in public service, including some years working foir the NHS. My admiration for the NHS and my commitment to public...
Many more haven't changed our minds! And many remainers have come to accept that we're leaving (though you'll doubtless find a few who haven't if you go on the Brexit thread!) Oh, and btw, I think you'll find that it was people who voted in the referendum - I'd be interested to hear any theory...
Absolutely no hint of dirty doings and threats being made to the BBC about the licence then ............................ absolutely not. Dominic Cummings would never advise such chicanery. Absolutely not.
Not in this country, no never...............................
Yes, it's a difficult one isn't it. There's an old saying, I believe originating in India, that goes, "My enemy's enemy is my friend". Labour leavers, like myself, aren't comfortable voting for Johnson (as I did) on the grounds that all other parties would not 'get Brexit done' - or even happen...
Yes, of course you're right - you've nailed it. The trouble is that this thread has been invaded by a few who don't understand what the issues are. They're more at home slugging insults back at some of the more bitter remainers on the Brexit thread. On here, they are unable to grasp the concept...
True. Also technically not illegal, although certainly reprehensible - as has been Cummings' behaviour. Unlike slimeball Cummings though, he resigned! (and later became a very worthy citizen, who worked for, and deserved, his CBE).
You don't recall the Thatcher years then? - when dear old Michael Foot (aka Corbyn Mk.I) was 'in charge' (I use the term loosely) of Militant Tendency - sorry, I mean the Labour Party.
No he wasn't - all he did was shag someone who wasn't his wife (not commendable, but not illegal). There was a great media witch-hunt and a general panic in government that secrets were being passed to the Russians through one of Keeler's other shag buddies. They weren't.
The police did not charge or caution Cecil Parkinson or John Profumo - they still had to resign though. So did Edwina Currie. Cummings has done more damage to his government than all there of 'em put together.
