Love that old pic. Half way up Richmond Street is a break, I was told to stop horses and carts descending the lot out of control. My mum lived in Richmond Street as a kid.

We didn’t come from Seaford, but went there once to see one of the rubbish disaster movies, Airport 75.

My parents lived at 320 Cowley Drive for 30 months until December 1959, they moved in when it was a new build (plot 32). Built by my Grandad.

Do you remember the front page of the Argus classifieds, adverts for 20 plus cinemas? Not just Brighton eg The Ritz in Seaford.

My Dad smoked Player’s, I remember it. Thankfully he gave up in 1975 and he‘s still alive n kicking.

Interesting that a fighter was over the UK at that time. I had thought that overwhelmed by the RAF/USAF, the Nazis were fighting a defensive air war over the continent, as well as the V weopons.

I’d love to see the 1960’s/early 70’s menu of the Top 20 Restaurant. From the 80’s onwards, there was culinary sea change.

Yep. Late 70’s and 80’s. A bit like the one in Duke Street (with the Scientologists).

I drew a map line from that SE corner of the railway station, over the roof of Hardy/Fawcett and came up with the Islingword area. Isn’t Elm Grove further north, and the church/school further up Elm Grove wasn’t a big size?

In the distance - Finsbury Road School? My mum went there. Near - Fawcett and Margaret Hardy schools. Both relocated to Patcham in the 60’s.

To the west of that, I think was Fiat dealer's Tilley’s, the site later became Oakley who sold high end Volva Penta powerboat engines. Dull information for the day .

I saw that 7 years later at The Regent (the Disney 7 years cycle), the first movie I can kinda remember, age 2 or 3. We went to that old Odeon in 1970 to see The Aristocats.
